Jules Aurora Is Lighting Her Own Path

Jules Aurora’s face is framed by her jet black hair in her latest IG post. A fitting frame for her sun kissed skin and illuminating eyes. Unlike anyone in the American entertainment industry, Aurora is making waves and shattering boundaries as a Filipina artist. She recently appeared in the daytime soap The Young and the Restless, in East West Players’ production of “Mamma Mia”, and her first feature film “And One” a musical drama.

Not only is she an actress, singer, and dancer, but Aurora is a passionate advocate for change and inclusion. She hopes to inspire little brown girls and boys of the future by bringing authentic Filipino representation and culture to TV, Film, and Music.

“To feel seen and to feel included and to feel, like oh wow! I can relate to that. I think that more doors will open for Filipino American talent just because in the industry right now I’m seeing more and more auditions, I’m seeing more castings, I’m seeing more faces that look like mine in the spotlight. Be yourself, own who you are.”

Inspiring indeed. Let’s take a closer look at this self-described “black sheep”.
